At Moya, you have full control over your personal data. This page explains how to delete your account and what happens to your data when you do.
⚠️ Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once you delete your account, all your data will be permanently removed from our systems.
1. What Gets Deleted
When you delete your Moya account, the following information will be permanently removed:
- Your profile information (name, email, phone, profile picture)
- All service listings you've created
- Your work experience, education, and certifications
- Portfolio items and images you've uploaded
- Your reviews and ratings (both given and received)
- All messages and conversations
- Your search history and preferences
- Location data and service area settings
2. What May Be Retained
For legal, security, and operational reasons, some data may be retained for a limited period:
- Transaction Records: Kept for legal compliance (typically 1-3 years)
- Anonymized Analytics: Aggregated usage data without personal identifiers
- Legal Holds: Data subject to legal preservation requirements
- Backup Systems: May persist in backups for up to 90 days before automatic deletion
3. How to Delete Your Account
Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)
- Open the Moya app on your device
- Navigate to Settings: Tap your profile icon → Settings
- Account Settings: Scroll down to "Account Settings" section
- Delete Account: Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm Your Identity: You may be asked to re-enter your password
- Read the Warning: Review what will be deleted
- Confirm Deletion: Tap "Yes, Delete My Account"
- Verification: You'll receive a confirmation email/SMS
📱 Note: You must be logged in to the app to delete your account using this method.
Method 2: Email Request
If you're unable to access the app, you can request account deletion via email:
Send a deletion request to:

Include "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line
In your email, please include:
- Your full name as registered on Moya
- The email address associated with your account
- The phone number associated with your account (if applicable)
- A brief statement: "I request the deletion of my Moya account and all associated data"
⏱️ Processing Time: Email requests are typically processed within 3-5 business days. You'll receive a confirmation email once your account has been deleted.
4. Deleting Google Sign-In Data
If you signed up using Google, you should also revoke Moya's access to your Google account:
- Go to Google Account Permissions
- Find "Moya" in the list of connected apps
- Click "Remove Access"
- Confirm the removal
Note: This only removes Moya's access to your Google account. To delete your Moya data, you must still follow the account deletion steps above.
5. Before You Delete
Consider These Alternatives:
- Temporary Deactivation: Deactivate your account instead of deleting it (coming soon)
- Privacy Settings: Adjust who can see your profile and services
- Data Export: Download your data before deletion
Download Your Data First
Before deleting your account, you may want to download a copy of your data:
- Open Moya app → Settings
- Go to "Privacy & Data"
- Tap "Download My Data"
- You'll receive an email with a download link within 24 hours
6. What Happens After Deletion
- Immediate: Your account is deactivated and you can no longer log in
- Within 24 hours: Your profile and services are removed from public view
- Within 7 days: Your personal data is deleted from our active servers
- Within 90 days: Your data is removed from all backup systems
7. Canceling a Deletion Request
If you change your mind, you have a limited time to cancel:
- In-App Deletions: Can be canceled within 24 hours by contacting support
- Email Requests: Can be canceled before we confirm the deletion
After the cancellation window, account deletion cannot be reversed.
8. Impact on Other Users
When you delete your account:
- Service Listings: Your services will be removed from search and become unavailable
- Conversations: Other users will see "User Deleted" in place of your name in old conversations
- Reviews: Reviews you wrote will be removed; reviews of your services will also be deleted
9. Creating a New Account
After deleting your account, you can create a new Moya account at any time. However:
- Your previous data will NOT be restored
- You'll need to set up your profile and services from scratch
- You may need to use a different email/phone if you deleted within 30 days

- Object to Processing: Object to certain uses of your data
